As a was saying in the first post, the idea of opening this blog is directly connected to my 23rd birthday party planning. It's been my first proper project, and since it came out pretty good I'll share with you the steps of its realization! Let's begin with the first and most important part of the plan:

THE IDEA

A couple months before my birthday I was already quite sure that I wanted to have a 70's themed party, yet I was still unsure about which direction I wanted to take, so first of all I did some research. The 70s were characterized by the Hippie movement's last years of popularity and by the birth of the Disco culture, and both styles suited my idea of the perfect party, because they could allow the guests to choose between an almost casual option and a really fancy one. The "guests-factor" is crucial when planning a party! You always have to make sure that what fits your needs is also affordable for every single people you invite, and in this case the 70's theme was, as I said, perfect.

Once I had picked my theme, the first thing I did was creating a Moodboard on Pinterest. It's a great way to visualize the style of the era and to find ideas and tutorials for the decorations. It is also an extremely helpful tool for your guests: you can share the moodboard with them, so that they can take inspiration from the photos for their costumes and hairstyles. Here's some of my favourites, and I'll also leave you the link of my board:

The second step involved creating graphics for the Facebook event, which was really easy for this theme: the only thing that you absolutely have to do is to look for the right fonts. Once you've found them, you don't need any extra graphic skill because the fonts do the work for you! Here's some of the fonts I've used, you can download them by clicking on the pics.

Last but not least, create a colour palette. As you can see in the the pics of the fonts above, mine was all about warm tones, however I decided to avoid colours such as browns or greens, which would have fitted the theme but not my ideas for the decorations. Keep your colour scheme as a reference for your plan, it will absolutely make the job easier.

That's all for the first part! And the best is yet to come.
